Help Elric find Baabaarossa! Here’s how you can help in the search:

1. Take a picture with a sheep!

This can be a real sheep, a toy sheep, a stone sheep, whatever sheep—as long as it is in the real world and aids in the search for Baabaarossa, snap a picture!
2. The photo should include a sign or piece of paper with the #HaveYouSeenElric hashtag clearly written on it.

3. Send us your picture along with the general location (i.e. “outside London,” “at Starbucks,” etc.) to any one of our social channels:

@AgeOfEmpires on Twitter
@AgeOfEmpires on Facebook
@AgeOfEmpiresGame on Instagram
4. Be sure to include the #HaveYouSeenElric hashtag in your post so we can count your entry!

The search for Baabaarossa is open until Wednesday, October 2 @ 2:04p UTC. Users who reply with a picture that meets all of the above requirements will be automatically entered into a drawing to win an Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition key. The number of keys rewarded will depend on the number of entries received in the hunt for Elric’s sheep:

10+ entries: 1 Key
20+ entries: +1 Key
30+ entries: +2 Key
40+ entries: +2 Key
Multiple entries are allowed, up to 3 per person. Winners will be drawn at random from the entrants and will be required to respond before they are awarded a Microsoft Store or Steam key, so make sure your DM’s are open!

Help us find Baabaarossa!

THE HUNT CONTINUES…
Thank you for your assistance as we try to find Elric’s lost sheep, Baabaarossa. Oh, and speaking of which: Elric wanted us to pass along this note he found… We don’t know what it means, but perhaps you can figure it out! #HaveYouSeenElric

I added the numbering for readability. Here are the riddles. In the next post are the links that correspond to get the answers.

“Here’s the first piece. See what you can find…”

“Here’s another one. I feel like I’m missing something obvious…”

“It’s tough work deciphering these from ancient wololo.”
“Have you deduced anything from the first two pieces yet? I’m sure there must be something I’m missing…”

“Halfway there!”
“I’ve also uncovered a new clue that might help. Here’s what the ancient texts say:”
Each is a key to several doors, though no ring holds them.
You must see what is unseen to unlock what is locked.
“Sadly, nothing strikes me as obvious or apparent about these pieces. There’s only so much a villager/builder/farmer/fisherman/forager/lumberjack/miner/shepherd/hunter/repairer can do; I’m not a scholar!”
“Could it be that there’s something deeper…something that’s normally hidden from view?”

“I think I’m getting the hang of this… I even finished deciphering this one early. ‘Wololo!’“
“The ancient text makes me believe that you’re looking for key words of some sort: text or numbers or something…”

“Another piece down! What wonders could be hidden behind these images?”

“Okay…this took time to translate. There may be something here that will help you:”
Each portrait conceals two keys;
Each key begets two more.
One key will tell you where;
The other is the what.
Neither is ciphered,
Though one must be found.
Look beyond familiar confines,
To a place where portraits live.
“Hopefully the final pieces will reveal more information to help in the hunt. I’ll keep working to translate them.”

“The final piece of this first puzzle! Hopefully this last passage of the ancient texts will help in your search:”
The portraits are a distraction;
The key is in the code.
The first keys belong to all nations;
They are children of history.
The next key knows no nation;
They belong to the web of the world.
The next key unlocks another puzzle,
Portraits that live outside of the /a/ges.
Find it to unlock the final key,
Then use them all to unlock the door.
“I will get to translating this final tablet right away…” *oomph* “Wow, these are heavy!”

“I’ve done it! Here’s the last clue, translated from ancient wololo.”

“Oh…and another…of the same…clue? (So…what’s the difference?)
